Flowrescent was commissioned to handle the branding and video creation for the National Student Survey (NSS), a key feedback tool for universities across the UK. The project aimed to design a student-focused identity that would capture attention and drive participation. By crafting a strong visual identity and developing a short, engaging promotional video, the campaign sought to resonate with the student demographic and make the survey feel relevant to their university experience.

The concept was inspired by the timing of the survey, which aligns with graduation season. To appeal to students, we visualised the video in a retro 8-bit video game style, reflecting the growing trend of old-school gaming. The storyline depicted a student house preparing for graduation, likening the survey to a final "boss battle" in a game—a symbolic representation of the university journey. The vibrant pixelated graphics and game-like sound effects ensured the video was both visually striking and engaging.

This fresh, gamified approach allowed the campaign to stand out among traditional university communications, leading to a significant boost in student engagement and participation. The branding and video marketing campaign was also optimised for SEO, ensuring it was easily discoverable across social media platforms and university digital channels.
